Regarding generation of output file

Dear community,
I am facing the problem regarding the generation of output file while the job is running . During calculations , I need to check the progress of my job . Is there any possible way out so that we can check update during the progress rather than just at the end.
I am using version 6.6.

It depends on the kind of job that you are running. For example, you can grep for the step number in the log file when you are running a SCF job.
