Geometry optimization with dispersion correction vdw 3

Hi.

I am having some problems to optimize a structure with the grimme 3 empirical dispersion correction. This is my input

START comp14_OPT_PBE-D3
echo

It is strange because the same calculation without the vdw 3 keyword has converged without problem.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?
Thank you!

Did you run the calculations on the same system as different users (e.g. one as root, another one as non-root user)?

Hi Edoapra

Thanks for the answer.

Yes, I submitted both jobs on the same system, which is a university facility type. Is that what you were asking?

Are you sure that there is enough space under /tmp?

I would apply the following modifications to the input file
1) comment out (e.g. insert the '#' character) to the scratch_dir line
2) rename the start line to something different, e.g.
start comp14_OPT_PBE-D3_new

This would avoid any conflict with previous runs.
